Plot of W Zappatore: Marcello Zappatore is a thirty-three-year-old boy from Lecce who plays electric guitar in a local Satanist metal band to earn a living. Marcello has a problem: an annoying itch on his side soon becomes a stigmata. Divine gift or need for change? Marcello does not know this, but the stigmata causes him some problems. In one fell swoop, because of his unintentional closeness to God, he loses his girlfriend (Monica Nappo) and the house they were living in, as well as the role and job of guitar player in the Satanist band, which certainly does not want a stigmatized guitarist.
Marcello thus finds himself on a personal journey through two incompatible worlds, that of God and that of Rock’n’Roll. Such as a journey in which he is accompanied by the people close to him: a bigoted mother (Guia Jelo), who steers him towards expiation in a Dominican convent; a somewhat eccentric grandmother (Sandra Milo), who encourages him not to give up Rock’n’Roll; new and old friends who try to make him do the right thing. But what is the right thing for Marcello? Abandoning Satan’s music to follow the divine gift of the stigmata? To disregard the Sign and follow his dreams of musical glory? Is there a meeting point even between opposite universes?
